Thanks for this. So let's just say I have two libraries now, they being named:
1) Main Library
2) Cloud Sync Library

#2 will have the books by series that I intend to sync to One Drive. In fact, I am saving #2 directly in the One Drive sync folder.

Now the question: Is there a way to make it so that library changes to #1 (i.e. book metadata or books added to a series saved to #2) automatically reflect in the #2 library? Or do I have manually re-save the books from #1 to #2?

I could not find the "copy to library" feature. The closest thing I found was a "save books to disk" feature. Per chance, is this what you were referring to?
