A multiple word selection gives me a box with buttons for "Highlight", "Wikipedia","Search", and "Dictionary", as well as greyed out buttons for "Add Note" and "Translate".
So, are you asking for a "one word dictionary selection" greyed out Translate Button?

Sorry English is not my first language so my description got a bit messy up there. Anw it works exactly as you said. While I can understand the reason for its implementation, in my scenario when I loaded some big dictionaries, it can take pretty long for a word to be found and can be really annoying when I accidentally select a word. What I'm trying to do is: Selecting 1 word only bring out the options, not automatically search for meaning in the dictionary, or maybe a feature suggestion is to limit the range of the search to a few pre-selected dictionary and an option to search in other dictionary should I choose to do so. I hope my point is clearer this time around.
