I have a charger right now that I keep plugged in in the bathroom, the charging lights are bright enough on it that it serves a dual purpose of being a night light very well!
It doesn't bother me. I just tested it in a dark room without windows. It doesn't light up the room like the digits on an alarm clock can. It's not outputting light that you could use to see around the room. But since the rest of the room is so dark, the light does stand out as bright blue. If you are putting it in an outlet within your line of sight, then it may annoy you. Difficult to judge. Hope that helps!
