Pot Roast in a crockpot. Straight from the Rival crockpot cookbook.
2 to 3 potatoes, pared and thinly sliced
2 to 3 carrots, pared and thinly sliced
1 to 2 onions, peeled and sliced
Salt and pepper
3 to 4 pound roast
1/2 cup water or beef console
Put vegetables in the bottom of Crockpot. Salt and pepper meat, then put in pot. Add liquid. Cover and cook on low 10 to 12 hours. High 4 to 5.5 hours.
Now for the West Bend slow cooker.
3 pound roast
Salt and pepper
1 large onion cut into wedges
6 carrots, halved and cut into 3 inch pieces
4 potatoes, halved
Brown roast in West Bend pot on top of range over medium heat. Transfer cooking pot to base. Season roast with salt and pepper. Place vegetables around the roast. Cover and cook at setting 3 (low) for 7 to 9 hours.
