I currently have 3 Paperwhites and a Voyage, all of which have that type of case. Two of them are made by Swees and the others are made by other companies. I also have 3 Kobos and a Nook Glowlight Plus with that type of case. In the past I've had other Kindles also with that kind of case.

A number of my neighbors in the retirement home where I live have them as well. I've never seen any with any problems.

When someone has a Kindle problem around here they bring it to me so I get to see them all from time to time and I'd see the problems if they were there.

That's not to say some won't go bad. Anything can go bad. But mine so far have been just fine.

By the way I also use the same kind of case on tablets when I use a case on them. I've been doing that for years. For the most part my tablets are used without cases but I do have a case for each in case it's needed and they all get used sometimes. None have ever had problems yet.

I think these things are pretty sturdy. Of course now that I've said that yours will probably break.
