This is a great series though it took the 2nd book for the setting to finally 'click' with me. I really didn't like it in the first book but the main character has a Secret and it was intriguing enough that I kept going.
It's also a little more... romancy that what I usually read but not badly. It's part of the story but it's not THE story. And it has some moments of Bad Ass that make up for it.
Fun fact - the author's name is a pen name for a husband and wife writing team.
