Spoiler:
DRM Free (Downloadable from Website)
Audiobooks marked as Downloadable means you can download these titles directly from our website. These titles are DRM-free which means you can download the MP3 audio files and transfer them to any of your devices for personal uses. Copyright laws still apply to these files and you are prohibited from sharing them with others in any way. Over 95% of AudiobooksNow's digital audiobooks are DRM-free.

DRM Protected
Audiobooks marked as DRM Protected have DRM (Digital Rights Management) installed which means you cannot download the raw MP3 audio files. DRM Protection is mandated by the publisher. Less than 5% of AudiobooksNow's digital audiobooks are DRM Protected. However, all of our digital audiobooks are downloadable to any of our free apps.

I only checked the one title I was planning to buy, but they say the vast majority of their books are non-DRM.

I did look at the free premium section--not much I was interested in; I noticed some shorts I already got free from Audible and/or audiobooks.org in the past. But, yes, a decent number of recognizable authors at least.

So it seems worth a free trial.
A-ha! I don't know how I missed that. I checked a dozen or so titles and all of them were DRM-free. That makes giving it a try worthwhile.
