Hi,

my kindle paperwhite display is broken but not entirely defunctional: The upper half shows alright but the lower half is mostly black. Depending on the contents and screen refresh there still is some contrast and it's showing the actual content. (see attachments)

I was wondering if somebody here has a clue what the cause might be.
I will gladly pull my soldering iron from the shelf and open the device if there is some chance to repair this.
