You can also use Kobo Utilities to dismiss the in the cloud tiles from your home screen though I haven't tested that functionality recently. Once the database trigger is set, it should automagically dismiss the tile(s).
I located the option in the Utilities plugin and the tick to dismiss iCloud tiles worked perfectly.
