Barry, if you just want the larger screen, what about the Nexus 6, Nexus 6p or Pixel XL? I'm as spoiled by vanilla Android as you and couldn't see going back to Samsung for any reason, aside from their current risk to life and limb. (I haven't followed Pixel XL's battery life, but I would assume it has the same issues as the Pixel.)

I wonder how much of the battery issue is due to kinks in Nougat? I'm still rocking Marshmallow (thanks for nothing, Verizon!) and I don't have battery issues.
