I have an official Samsung sleepcover as well, and it constantly turns on my device unless I put it completely flat on a surface. But it's not as noticeable as it will turn itself off again if it doesn't see you.

And that's why I always turn off sleepcover settings if a reader goes with me in a bag

Too much play in there to open the cover enough to turn on the device (and that not only drains the battery, it can also cause you to lose your place in the book...)
