For some reason clocks never seem to have a long life with me. During the night my wall clock died, new batteries didn't do the trick, unfortunately. I do really like the clock, I bought it at Ikea and luckily they still have it, so I'll get another one (it's about the same price as a new mechanism).

However, throwing away the old clock seemed a bit of a waste. Then I noticed that it can easily be taken apart and there's almost an inch of space between the front glass and the back. I see an "altered clock" project for the future. I will need to think about what I want to do; do I want to keep the clock theme or will I use it as a round shadowbox and do something totally different.
