I'm reading my current book on my Kobo Aura from Spinningnoon. The one I got was listed as New: Other. I'm never sure what that means but I can't tell it from a new one. Both the device and the box are perfect. Actually I got two of them and they're both perfect.

I think I paid $169 for my older Kobo Aura, which I bought new when they first came out about 2 or 3 years ago. I may remember the price wrong but it was something like that. It had a flaw where if I pressed a little on the lower right portion just below the screen it would start turning pages quickly. Kobo was hard to reach and I decided to just live with it. It's easy enough to avoid. I've gotten a lot of use from it.

The recent ones from Spinningnoon don't have that problem at all but they do have a different problem. If I put them in a case, and I have my old case as well as a new case, the power switch starts sticking. It's not a serious problem but it can make it difficult to power it on or off in the case. I nearly always leave it on so no big deal.

My guess is that the devices shell has changed design somewhat and that's why it happens. When it's not in the case the power button works perfectly.

I keep one out of the case anyway and that's the one I've been using. I'll probably remove the other one from the case as well but I'm not sure yet.

For features and firmware and so on the Kobo isn't as nice as my Kindle. Neither is the store. But for reading it's just fine. The screen on the Kindles is better than this particular model Kobo although other Kobos have better screens. Still, this screen is just fine. What really makes it for me is how it feels holding it while reading and how small it is so I can put it in a pants pocket to carry it. I'm using it more and more.
