It's still a lot easier to right-click on the book in the list, because that's where I just left-clicked to select the book in the first place.
It's also not as easy to edit different formats...you have to explicitly pick the format first, while the "Open with" plugin limits choices to only the formats that exist. And, although you can right click on the cover and do "Open With", that is again in a different location than the formats...it's a lot of mouse moves, and the plugin doesn't require nearly as much.
The last bonus for the plugin is that I don't have to clutter up my Windows "Open With" list on eBook formats so that Calibre can see them.

90% of my use case for Sigil is for EPUB container maintenance (file renaming, file splitting/merging, TOC editing, etc.) and the rest is for the "Delete unused" features, so the CSS editing bug only hits me once every few months.
