I'm admittedly a bit out of my element, here, but I'm not sure that the "vnd." part of the media-type is standard for link tags with xpgt files. But if EpubCheck isn't complaining, I may be all wet. I'll let Kevin chime in.
When I get home, though, I'll check if the same exact code triggers the error in 0.9.6.
