The vast majority of their material is live, not studio recordings. Everything from the annual "30 Days of Dead" is live. The Internet Archive has a lot of their concerts, many of them sound board recordings, so the quality is excellent (there are also a lot of audience recordings of varying quality at Internet Archive).

A family member is a Deadhead and not very computer savvy, so every year I have to download this material and burn to discs. I only listen for the few seconds it takes to check the quality of the discs, then immediately go back to my beloved Sinatra songs.
