With it being Tuesday, there is a new
freebie from Classical-music.com. It is a piano piece, from pianitst Noriko Ogawa, of Satie's
Je Te Veux. The blurb:
This week's free download is Satie's Je Te Veux
performed by Japanese pianist Noriko Ogawa. The recording, on BIS, recieved a 5-star review in September.
'Ogawa convincingly destroys the (alas widespread) belief that Satie's music actually needs puling about for its sly humour and sudden movements of tenderness to make their mark,' writes Roger Nichols. 'In this utterly delightful disc she manages to convey not only Satie's quirkiness, but his honesty.'
Once you're logged in, click on the red "dowload now" button, covering part of the thumbnail image of the album(?) cover, on
this webpage. The piece will automatically download to your computer!
It is a pleasant piece but, imho, there is nothing that makes it stand out from other, similar piano pieces. I'm not much of a fan of piano music, though. Still, definitely worth downloading and adding to the classical music play list on on your MP3 player.
