10.10.5 isn't anywhere near the newest version of OS X, though. 10.11.6 is current. I suspect the OP means the newest Calibre, not the newest OS.

What steps have you already taken, tarasview? Have you restarted the Kobo and the Mac, tried a different USB port, tried a different microUSB cable? Are you pressing Connect on the Kobo screen after connecting the cables?
