Note the only work we have that Shakespeare actually published was maybe the sonnets.
He died in 1616 and the First Folio was 1623

I vaguely remember hearing that, now. He wrote all of those plays, but never bothered to have them published during his lifetime. I guess that he wanted to spend all of his available time doing what he loved (writing and producing) rather than having stuff published.
