I think the big news here is more about scale than anything else. With things like this and AT&T buying Time Warner companies are getting larger than they have in the past and there will be fewer and fewer of them. There are scary aspects to this.

It's nothing really new but at the moment there seems to be a lot of it and as there are more and more super-giant companies they'll accumulate more and more power.

This is a good time to be 75 years old. It's more likely to be you young guy's problem.
