Aha! A step forward! It took 3 attempts, but this finally produced a list of fonts (including the one I've copied into my linkfonts/fonts folder, ChareInk). The problem now is, I tap into /Font Overrides/Condensed/Custom, select ChareInk and a tick appears next to it. I back out to Fonts, restart the framework, and everything seems to work okay. I then go into a book, select Caecilia Condensed, and...nothing. I just get Caecilia Condensed. I can swap to any of the other "normal" fonts, too, and they will change as normal. Caecilia Condensed hasn't changed to ChareInk, though.

What a headscratcher this has been!
