Very Highly Rated Self-Pub Autobiography/Memoir of a Chicago Trial Lawyer. FREE!

Every now and then, I come across a self-published book that seems like a hidden gem that is destined to be discovered by the masses one of these days. This is one of them.

I'm posting this book because the first paragraph of the book description struck a chord with me. Things in my life have not turned out as I expected and planned, either. Maybe the author has some wisdom to share.

Reviewers are apparently wowed by it. It is rated 4.8 stars, even with two "1" ratings weighing the average rating down (I have to think that they are from odd people, cranks, or malcontents, based upon the extraordinary reviews/ratings from the rest of the reviewers).

I know that you're a bargain hunter--you're on the Deals, Freebies, and Resources thread aren't you?--but don't be put off this time about the fact that the book, even free, is not a big bargain compared to the regular price (the regular digital price is only $1.99).

Chicago Law: A Trial Lawyer's Journey. By Joseph A. Garofalo. Rated 4.8 stars, from 46 reviews at the present moment at Amazon. Print list price $13.50; digital list price $1.99; Kindle price $0.00. Garofalo Family Vineyards, Inc., publisher. 333 pages. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SU0M5DW/.

Book Description
Rarely do we live the life we originally intended. We make up our minds and charge down the path we’ve chosen, only to find ourselves arriving at an unexpected destination. We don’t know how it happens, but after enough time has passed, we’re able to look back and assemble the puzzle pieces to make sense of it all.

This is the business of Joseph A. Garofalo’s autobiography, except his life’s puzzle pieces are not made up only of choices and events. They also predominately take the form of people. His story introduces the many relationships that make up who he is today—those who influenced him, the woman he married, the friends he made, his coworkers and bosses, his clients, and eventually, the partners he selected for his law firm.

His story that begins in a working-class Chicago neighborhood and ends with cofounding his own firm, as well as owning a California vineyard, is an inspirational journey of self-discovery that will draw out readers’ introspection and appreciation. Because it is more than a story. It is a series of life lessons that can only be expressed in this way by one who’s learned them himself.
