No it doesn't work with the fire. Its an old app and apparently the designer never decided to update it for the newer versions. I was disappointed too because I thought I had finally stumbled across a way to get my kindle sorted easy especially since my tags are all sorted how I want them in Calibre.
Hopefully someone will pick this idea up and get it working for newer versions.
