I had briefly considered getting a Dot when they were first announced, but decided to pass for now. In my living room I have my Fire TV box hooked up to my TV through a sound base. So in there I can use the push button on the Fire TV box remote and get a much better sound than the Dot. I love the Echo I have in my study/office. But I really couldn't justify spending money on a Dot I really don't need.
