Listening is easy with any browser I've tried. Downloaded, though...
On iOS, I have no idea how to get the downloaded MP3s backed up somewhere. Which, of course, is by design (thanks a lot, Apple).
On Android, you have to be fairly well updated (they recently locked out my old chromebook, which worked for audiobooks just fine). I managed to get the new app running on my latest Tab, then have to dig thru the files until the MP3s are located (which have nice, useful numbers as names), the Share to dropbox. Works, just a pain.
Nook, though - no web, just device, in their app and good luck with getting it moved to an MP3 player.
