Well, I do not see what difference there are that is relevant to the question about what happens after death.

I am scared of people basing their moral compass on religion. I do not want to be near them when they loose there faith.

You can base your moral compass on a lot of things. Social contracts. Laws. Upbringing. Imitation. Moral reasoning. The structures in the brain. And so on.
