I add "+instafreebie" or some other identifier to the Gmail e-mail address I provide. Filters are my friends.
I get only books that interest me so author newsletters are one thing. It's the auto-sub to instaFreebie that really irks me. Same goes for nice giveaways that don't let entrants choose which newsletters to subscribe to.
And sponsors wonder why they end up in spam…

Perhaps they confuse newsletter with blog? Can you tell what newsletter service they use?
