I'm not reading it at the moment, but I'm posting because I did read an extract and was totally enamoured. Aussie Steve Toltz's A Fraction Of The Whole had been added to my list after reading the above linked-to extract (I recommend giving it a burl - it covers about the first 24 pbook pages of the book). It had been pointed out to me enthusiastically by a lusciously literary and lovely Seattle friend (even as an Aussie, I had no awareness of it prior) whose judgement I have previously rewardingly put a lot of faith in (helped by owning two of her wonderful poetry books). I couldn't find it in any of the local "new" pbook shops, and was going to buy it as an ebook (yes, it appears available), but a quick look in a secondhander the other day and it jumped off the shelves for AUS$12 (a relative bargain ). I'm looking forward to continuing it.
