One problem is that when they make Readers thinner, it becomes harder to hold. Also, I agree about making devices lighter and/or thinner at the expense of the battery. People have been using the thicker/heaver devices with no complaint. Keep the new device at a size that allows an even better battery.
What I would like is these devices to stop non-replaceable batteries. When cell phones were first released, they had a replaceable battery. So did music players, radios and such. Now we get non-replaceable batteries and a lot of people cannot do the battery replacement. So instead of buying a battery, they have to buy a new device at a much higher cost.
