Well I'm happy to report that I was issued a replacement for my bricked Kobo WiFi device. They sent me a Kobo Touch since they no longer make the Kobo WiFi. It's bitter sweet as I really liked the Kobo Wifi, but I'm also very appreciative of Rakuten/Kobo for sending me a replacement even after having owned the original device for over 5 years (to be fair though, my device was like new). Either way, thanks for the help and support, you guys and gals are awesome! And best of luck if you try to get your device replaced.
