That you don't see a magnet doesn't mean the cover will not be kept closed. It is possible that the rim of the case has a strip of metal worked into it, with a strip of magnetic material under the lining of the flap. Then it would be kept closed without you seeing any magnets.
Most cheap covers have visible magnets/metal on the right, or a protrusion holding the magnet/metal. I don't like either.
Norève should have a way to keep the cover closed, or it will possibly open on its own if the device is stashed into a bag. If that happens, it'll turn on and drain the battery. It would make the auto-wake/sleep function useless.
My KPW1 cover has magnets worked into the corners, but that is a cover that covers the entire reader including the bezels, just like the Gecko one. If it's closed, it even requires a bit of effort to open.
