It also counts the reading time if you just leave it on while a book is open. For example, I've set mine to never automatically go to sleep or power off (when I'm done reading, I either close the sleep cover or turn it off manually) and one night I forgot to close the cover before I fell asleep and the book was left open. When I woke up, 10 hours were added to my reading time. So it could have been something like that.
