Get the First Van Halen Album of the Sammy Haggar Era for Only 99 Cents!

I find it annoying doing business with Google Play, for a variety of reasons. But, let's face it, when Google Play Music has its best deals, they are of such a caliber that it puts to shame all of the other guys.

That's true of Van Halen's album 5150. It's rated 4.8, from 270 reviews at the present moment. Right now, Google Play has it for 99 cents! That's less than the price of a single track on the album!

This was Van Halen's first album with Sammy Hagar as the lead singer. Hagar replaced David Lee Roth, who either left on his own or got booted out of the band, I don't know which (whatever happened to him, anyway? But, I digress). Frankly, I don't think that Van Halen was as good of a band post-Roth (I liken it to the band Journey after Steve Perry left). But, there are others who feel just the opposite. One thing for sure, they were still a mighty good band with Sammy Hagar as the frontman.

This is not an anthology of greatest hits, or anything like that, but there are at least 4 songs out of the 9 on the album that I consider solid hits--"Why Can't This Be Love?," "Dreams," "Love Walks In," and "Best of Both Worlds." That's 4 desirable tracks for less than 25 cents each! The album was a must-buy for me.

Read all about the album here, including how the album got its name (or should I say "number?" ha) 5150--it's a hoot. At the same webpage, you can purchase the album if you wish.

Note: there are 6 more albums currently priced at 99 cents at Google Play. I don't recognize any of the bands, however. I don't know if that is because they are not very popular bands now or if it is because they are newer bands that I am not familiar with. Find these, and other ones, priced higher, at this webpage. And, no, I don't know why Google Play keeps calling this category "Hot Albums from $7.99" when there are always several less than $7.99.
