Looks like I'm also one of those who will have to wait for the roll out of the update to spread more widely. Luckily, I haven't been experiencing many of the issues faced by others so another couple of weeks won't make much of a difference.
On another note, when the update does become available, will those of us who used the work around to turn off the auto-sync feature need to undo it when we sync to get the update, or can we just leave our devices as currently configured?
