Kobo Canada is having a Thanksgiving long weekend holiday sale, good through October 10th for a selection of books at $4.99 CAD and under. Some of the books are regular publisher discounts price-matched at other stores, but a number of others are exclusive sale specials.

There's a mix of bestsellers from the big publishers (including some Haruki Murakami and Philippa Gregory and Jodi Picoult at the $4.99 level), a lot of niche genre books from smaller publishers (some good Open Road sf/fantasy reprints at the $1.99 level, and some award-nominated Canadiana from our local small presses), and a scattering of indie authors' works as well.

Main promo page, with categories as follows: Fantastic Fiction, Contemporary Women's Fiction, Detectives, Sleuths & Police Procedurals (a lot of Kensington cozy mysteries at the $1.99 mark, if you're interested), Thrilling Page Turners (some backlist horror novels from well-known writers in here), Riveting Romance, History, Biography & Memoir, Health, Hobbies, Humour & Home, Discover Canadian Poetry, Science Fiction & Fantasy (some interesting titles from smaller publishers, such as award-winning Finnish fantasy author Johanna Sinisalo's translated work which was on my to-try list, and a Tanya Huff reprint of one of her old DAW books that I rather liked and got the last time it was on sale), Great Picks for Kids & YA Fans
