I'm with Charlie. Why the hell should you pay for your sister's vacation? I mean, sure, great--if you were rolling in dough, and something bad had happened to sis, AND you didn't need the time to yourself, that would be one thing. But your sister made her choices--she bought a new apartment that needed fixing-up, and now she'll make those sacrifices--like the rest of us. She's already told your family that she's restricted, on that basis. I don't blame your sister--I blame your mother.

Perhaps you should suggest that MOM take your sister someplace, and that SHE pick up the tab. Right? Walk the walk, Mom, rather than just talking the talk.

YOUR vacation. Your dough. Don't let her steamroll you.
