The Voyage will turn the light down to 0 if it gets bright enough - no reason to waste battery. I ended up turning off the auto light on my Voyage after a while. Sometimes just a slight shift of my body would make the light go up and down, it drove me nuts. This was especially the case at night with a side lamp. Outside it would turn the light up, not down. So I don't miss the feature much on my Oasis.
