Today's free piece from YourClassical is Vincent d'Indy's Symphony No. 2: III. Modere - Tres anime.

I've liked all of the YourClassical giveaways, but I am particularly interested in listening to all (I'm listening to it now) of this one, because d'Indy is not a composer whom I recognize.

The piece is played by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. Jean-Luc Tingaud is the conductor. The piece is in the MP3 format, as are all of the YourClassical freebies. It is 5 minutes, 28 seconds long, and comes from the Naxos album d'Indy - Symphony No. 2: Souvenirs, Istar, Fervaal.

Find out more about the album that the free piece comes from by going here. If you want to download the free piece, there's a download link, "Direct MP3 download link," that you need to click, on this webpage.

With it being Friday, there will be no more YourClassical freebies for a couple of days.

I've listened to the entire piece now, and being the uncultured hayseed hick that I am, about all that I can tell you is that is sounds good and that this is a lot of violin in the piece.
