Jailbreaking doesn't install a custom ROM so that's why the firmware is still listed as the same number. Others who are not technically inclined can give more info as to what the jailbreak installs.
Unzip the archive for KO Reader as is into the root of your Kindle, leaving the folders as is.
Also, don't put your full serial number out there. Easiest way to get your device blacklisted by Amazon.
