Sorry, I missed that post. Have a look at the attached screenshot. You'll need to select the top-most folder (LanguageTool-3.5) and double-click languagetool.jar (marked in red). This should start the standalone version after a couple of seconds.

Since only a few LibreOffice plugins, such as LanguageTool, require Java, LibreOffice-specific Java support files are distributed in a separate libreoffice-java package file which might be missing on your machine.
(If it's already installed the package manager will let you know when you enter the above command.)

This applies mostly to Internet browser Java plugins, which are usually disabled in Linux distros.
To double-check whether your Java plugins are enabled follow these instructions.
