Calibre can find and deliver books without being limited to a Single file path that your current system uses,

which is similar to a Dead Tree Library:
1)look up the book in the card (e)Catalog
2Note the Dewey Call #
3)Locate the shelf
4)Locate the book

Calibre is a Library MANAGER
1) Use the Tag Browser to build a Search or just type it in
2)Select the book from the results
3)click Send or View

Step 1 is the same for either Calibre or Dead Tree.

Is your system that flexible?
