That is odd. What OS version is installed on your tablet?

Fire OS 5.3.1 is the current version for the HD 6 and it contains Kindle app version 10.11_1197791110 initially, prior to any component updates.

Perhaps your tablet lacks sufficient free storage to download and install the latest major OS update.
