I get the same result as shamanNS.

I "purchased" the free book (Silo 49: Going Dark by Ann Christy) and had it delivered to my Android device running K4A 7.4.0.32. As expected, it appeared in the "/sdcard/Android/data/com.amazon.kindle/files/B00DYV8NKQ" folder as a set of .kfx files, since that book supports Enhanced Typesetting.

ETA: One thing I forgot to mention and seeing the "\" characters in the original post reminded me...

The "files" directory under "com.amazon.kindle" is somehow blocked from access via USB. If you want to access these files from a PC you need to use a file manager on the Android device to copy the contents somewhere else.

Edit 2: I did some more research and it turns out that the "files" directory being missing over USB was a problem on my device. The MTP protocol that provides file access over USB depends on a database collected by the internal Media Storage app. I needed to clear that app's database and restart to fix the problem.
