I'm currently taking a course on Philosophy because science (my specialist subject) was derived from philosophy. Somewhere, they drifted apart to such a point that scientists hold philosophers in disdain as they accuse the philosophers of sitting on the fence i.e. never committing to one side or another. Sometimes scientists accuse philosophers of arguing points to the nth degree making a conclusion impossible.
I don't like taking sides so I'm studying philosophy to complement my science education and maybe find out the cause of the drift - I'm not specially looking for it. It's nice to know that you're a philosopher as well as a scientists, so you presumably don't see the drift.
