We only have the word of one CS representative that the firmware update was due on the 3rd.
We know a 4.1 release is imminent only because folks on the forum say so, Kobo has not released any official details and the only objective evidence we have of the existance of 4.1 is that the latest version of Calibre supports it (so it must exist, at elast in beta form)
It's almost been a month since I bought my KA1, and so my return window is rapidly dwindling. I'm also waiting for a replacement because my KA1 has natural light issues. The replacement is taking its own sweet time to arrive, but I guess that's only to be expected because they are sold out of initial stocks.
TBH, while I love the size and convenience of the KA1, the hardware QC and buggy firmware have been somewhat frustrating.
If the replacement hardware is better than my first KA1, and Kobo fixes the battery issue (even if thats the only thing they fix) I plan on keeping my KA1, but if the replacement also has QC issues and the battery drains like it does now after 4.1, I think I will be returning the KA1 and sticking to my Kindles, which is a shame because I genuinely think the KA1 is a gamechanger.
