I don't have KT3 so I can't be expected to know things like that for certain. There is always possibility that Amazon/Lab123 thought it would be "logical" to exclude some features from what is the basic Kindle model. Like "let's remove the built-in light" , "let's remove accessibility features"...
Or who knows what happens and we end with situations like my Nexus 4 not having USB OTG support (hardware wise; you would need external power supply AND adding kernel support) when previous model and all the newer ones after Nexus 4 have had it.
I've ask the question because sometimes the obvious stuff like that doesn't get examined before we all go "serial port, ssh, button codes, debug away". If the presenter works and USB cable works on some other device, that was the first thing that crossed my mind...
