I haven't actually read the article... but my immediate first thought is, if the majority of women are reading romance for "the sexy", what's wrong with that?

Obviously I realize the drawbacks to the industry as a whole if the majority of publishing houses start pushing their writers in a specific direction, but that happens in every industry everywhere. It corrects itself eventually. But until it does, I genuinely don't understand why someone's preferences of reading material are anyone's concerns but theirs.
