KA1 inconsistent battery life, random/sudden drops

Before I begin, yes, I have tweaked the config file to turn off auto sync and it works. I also never use WiFi except when I'm checking for updates every few weeks.

I've been noticing random battery drops (usually in increments of ~10-15%) for no reason. One moment the battery is at say 60% and a minute later it's at 47-50%. This happens quite often (2-3 times per charge) and it usually happens in the first 10 or so minutes of reading.

I've also noticed how fast the battery drains when using the search function, opening a couple of different books in a short period of time and generally just navigating through settings. In just ~30 minutes of jumping between books, checking reading stats and flipping through pages the battery indicator went from 40% to 25%.

When reading one book at a time and not doing anything else, battery life seems fine except for those sudden ~10% drops.

Does anyone else have these issues? There was also supposed to be a firmware update today according to some users here.
