I am sure that the much more modern equivalent of green air packs developed in Scandinavia would be more environmentally friendly, especially as so many forests would not be devoured by Amazon. Strange eh, "Amazon devouring forests ... " Oh well! But to get back to my point - as an old customer with arthritic hands, I am simply unable to handle these huge quantities of brown paper in every parcel. It is simply a foolish choice forced on the retailer by certain pressure groups.
Regarding the comment of, "epubs are the most common form of ebooks in Europe, buying any other brand than a Kindle makes more sense anyway", I find this to be rather naive (or possibly even foolish) because it is so absolutely simple to convert different formats these days.

I almost always get the green air bags. The only times I have gotten brown paper which might I add is great for craft projects and more biodegradable than the plastic in the air bags is when I ordered batteries.
