Thanks! Deleting the "device_drivers_KOBOTOUCHEXTENDED.py" file did resolve the problem.
It took me a few minutes to find where this directory was in OS X though. If anyone else is looking for it run Calibre --> Preferences --> Advanced - Miscellaneous --> "Open calibre configuration directory"
